Our Story
At Richter Nursery, we are rooted in a rich gardening heritage that spans generations. Our passion for plants and woodworking drives us to provide exceptional products to our customers. Discover the essence of nature intertwined with craftsmanship.

Larry and Dr. Stasia Richter’s journey began together at a Not-For-Profit Sustainable Community Garden, where Stasia serves as Vice President. Both share a deep passion for nurturing plants and immersing themselves in nature.

Their shared love for gardening took root with the purchase of a medium-sized Jansens Victorian Greenhouse, which Larry now sells. Over time, they expanded their property, adding additional acres and a barn, transforming their hobby into a thriving business. Today, they specialize in selling perennial plants, herbs, spices, cacti, succulents, and a diverse selection of houseplants.

Dr. Stasia Richter, with her background in internal medicine, has a strong commitment to promoting healthy living. She combines her medical expertise with her love for gardening to educate the public about making healthier food choices and embracing sustainable gardening practices. Her efforts include giving presentations in local communities, inspiring others to live healthier and more environmentally conscious lives.

Meanwhile, Larry, an experienced woodworker, operates a fully equipped woodworking shop on their grounds. He oversees the greenhouses, maintains the property, and ensures their one-acre lake remains a vibrant and healthy habitat.
Together, Larry and Stasia have created a emerging business and a lifestyle that blends their passions for nature, health, and craftsmanship.
We prioritize both quality and sustainability in every aspect of our work. We carefully handpick plants, pots and produce unique wooden items that reflect our passion for gardening and our commitment to the environment. Let us add a touch of greenery and elegance to your space.

As an eco-friendly nursery, we are dedicated to protecting the environment. To reduce our ecological footprint we use our own peat-free potting and seed-starting mixes on-site. Peat, which is harvested from ancient bogs has a vital role in sequestering carbon and improving air quality and is rapidly depleting. In response, we choose to use sustainable ingredients to support both our plants and the planet. Our packaging is always made from recyclable materials

We rely on natural solutions for fertilizing our crops and plants using compost and worm castings all produced on-site ensuring healthy, sustainable growth for our crops while reducing our environmental impact. We also use homemade sunchoke pesticide rather them chemical pesticides.
